Perfect Cell from the Dragon Ball manga/anime. This took ridiculously long to finish, but it doesn't quite flow like i wanted it to. I made this alternative version because I prefer the organic feel of Toriyama's Cell over the plastic feel of the semi-perfect and perfect forms.

My aim with this one was realistic and detailed look as usual and I tried to design it so that it would seem to be that psychopathic type of evil like Hannibal Lecter instead of a less scary Jaws-esque brute.

The work started as a pencil drawing, which I scanned and edited with PSP 8.

Constructive criticism would be nice.

Wow, that's really awesome. :wow: Incredible detail and realism!!
I don't think there's too much wrong with it except...doesn't Cell have spots on his head? On the green parts? I dunno--it's been a while since I've seen him. ^^; Other than that....well, the lips might be a little big, but that's it!! :D Again, great job!! :clap:

Thanks! Yeah, Cell has spots, but i decided to make a wrinkly "helmet" instead.

Yeah, this isn't totally faithful to the original, since I tried to make the green and yellow parts look more unified.

My God....quick, someone find the guys in charge of the DBZ movie, I think we've found the guy who can do the designs :jawdrop: My god, everything you did is so beautiful and fantastic. My only gist is the spots (kinda a trademark for Cell) and that his cranium looks too vulnerable, like he has atumor or something. Doesn't he has a black armor covering his head....oh well, it is your vision and a woderous vision it is !! :bow:

Woah, thanks for all the compliments and favs, i really appreciate them. Yes, In DB, Cell has a black cover on it's head, but i went for a fallen angel kind of look. The vertical line on the cranium is a sagittal crest, which is formed after reactivating some human pseudogenes. Sagittal crest is an attachment point for jaw muscles in animals like gorilla (the high and fragile skull of humans would crack if we would have so big muscles), but in this case it's basically just a demonstration of power :D

A DB movie could be visually cool, although i can't imagine how you could make a decent movie of such an epic story.
It would require intro of hours imo, but that wouldn't work in a movie.

Hey man, if they can get Venom into Spidey 3 and they can do movies such as the Matrix and Kung Fu Hustle, they can do DB. I just the character will look almost close to your incredible designs! :D

Woaw man... being Cell my fav character on the whole DBZ, i must definetly agree with the coment above. This would be the perfect design for a realistic Cell in a DBZ movie. Everything looks awasome. Really.
I would kill for a full view of his whole body...
Do u think u will someday have time to do it?
